Some of our favourite plants can become weakened and disfigured by powdery mildew.
Gooseberries are made inedible when the fruit is covered in a white mould.
Climbing honeysuckle planted at a dry wall can be weakened and disfigured. Perennial asters (michaelmas daisies ) are made unattractive just as we want to enjoy them.
Powdery mildew is encouraged and made worse by dry conditions at the root of the plant.
So keeping the soil moist and mulching to keep in the moisture will help to prevent mildew.
